Contractor Near You, LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates ContractorNearYou.com, a directory and lead generation platform based in Texas, USA. By accessing or using our website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ContractorNearYou.com, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not access or use the site.
2. Services Provided
ContractorNearYou.com allows contractors to create business listings, and users to browse listings, contact contractors, submit reviews relevant to the business listings, and submit lead information to get matched with a contractor. We earn a commission on leads submitted to 3rd-party services. We are not a contracting service and do not verify or guarantee any contractor or service listed.
3. Contractor Accounts
Contractors may register to create an account, submit listings, and manage their information. You must provide accurate, complete, and updated registration information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You agree not to share your login credentials or allow others to access your account. You are responsible for all activities under your account.
4. Contractor Listings
When you submit a listing, you agree to:
- Provide truthful and lawful content
- Have the right to publish all information, images, and logos
- Grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, distribute, and promote your listing
We reserve the right to reject or remove listings for any reason, including misleading, incomplete, or inappropriate content.
5. User Reviews
A. First-Hand Experience Requirement
Users submitting a review are required, and must certify, that their review is based on direct, personal interaction with the business which is listed. By submitting a review, you represent and warrant that you are a genuine customer who directly hired, attempted to hire, or engaged with the contractor for services.
B. High Threshold for Review Removal
The spirit of our terms regarding takedowns of reviews clearly establish that contractor disagreement of a review is not grounds for removal. Contractor Near You, LLC do not arbitrate factual disputes between consumers and contractors. Negative opinions, ratings, and subjective accountings of service quality will not be removed simply due to a dispute over accuracy or contractor dissatisfaction with the rating.
C. Prohibited Content
Our goal is to ensure moderation is objective, to the extent possible in a digital environment to work performed physically. Reviews are only be flagged or removed if they cross explicit boundaries:
Extortion: Reviews submitted solely as a threat to force discounts or free work outside of a normal business dispute.
Personal Privacy / Doxxing: Posting private phone numbers, home addresses, social security numbers, or financial details.
Unlawful Content: Threats of violence, hate speech, or harassment.
Conflicts of Interest: Reviews written or originated by employees, business partners, or direct industry competitors.
D. Contractor “Right of Reply”
Contractors are provided a designated mechanism to respond publicly on the directory listing for which a review is posted. Contractors have the right to post a one-time public response to any review. Responses must adhere to our standard content guidelines and maintain a professional tone. Contractor replies to reviews are subject to the previous section (4. Contractor Listings).
6. Lead Forms and Communication Tools
We may place lead capture forms on contractor pages and throughout the site. These forms may:
- Allow users to contact contractors directly (free of charge and without obligation)
- Allow users to submit information to be matched with third-party contractor services
Users understand that submitted lead information may be shared with contractors or 3rd-party partners, and we may earn a commission from these referrals.
7. Acceptable Use Policy
Users may not:
- Use the site for unlawful purposes
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems
- Scrape, copy, or crawl the site for data
- Post false or misleading content
- Interfere with the platform’s performance or security
